Ashtanga 101 Primer with Natalie Holst
Saturday November 20 from 1 to 5 pm
Sunday November 21 from 10 to 12 pm
Cost: $80+HST (Early bird $70 until October 31st)
We welcome Natalie back to Hollow Tree after her visit this past spring for the groovy, disco ball enhanced Madonna Flow Party! This time Natalie provides a thorough introduction to Ashtanga yoga. Highly recommended for those who would like to ground, uplift, and deepen a dynamic yoga practice. Learn more about Natalie at www.yogamakesmehappy.com.
Experience this dynamic yoga practice that builds both strength and flexibility through linked movements and postures. The Ashtanga Primary series is a set sequence of sun salutations, standing postures, seated postures and inversions for total health (body and mind) – mixing sweat with serenity. Through control of the breath, you will find strength, steadiness, focus and fluidity throughout the practice as the breath initiates and directs your movement.
Join Natalie Holst for this two day workshop to learn the fundamentals of the practice: the breath, the sun salutations, vinyasa sequences, core principles of alignment, and posture modifications to make the practice accessible to you and your body. Then, take this knowledge to the mat on Sunday for a 2 hour led practice of the full Primary series.

Join multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter Devin Johnstone and yoga teacher Susan McEwen for a Yin yoga practice supported and deepened by live music and readings.
Gift yourself with an evening of letting go and creating space as we release tension and striving, making room for an appreciation and acceptance of the fullness of the moment.
Yin practice “…encourages your body to heal injuries in the connective tissue, re-establishing its natural structure and range of motion.
In addition to its physical benefits, Yin yoga can alleviate stress and anxiety, re-activing the body’s relaxation response. It can also be a wonderful tool for releasing stored emotions and working with unresolved issues. It can also be of great benefit to those dealing with insomnia.” ~Devin Johnstone
